Independent UK heat-pump cost analysts
ASHPCost.co.uk is an independent research-led publication tracking real installer quotes for air source heat pumps across the UK. We collate quotes shared by homeowners (anonymised, with consent), cross-check against Energy Saving Trust trial data and Ofgem MCS statistics, and republish the resulting cost ranges quarterly. We are not paid by installers or manufacturers — see /methodology for our review process.

Every page on ASHPCost that contains technical claims (sizing, costs, grant eligibility, running-cost figures) is reviewed by an MCS-qualified domestic heat-pump installer before publication. The byline at the top of long articles records the most recent review date.
What we are not
- We are not an installer. We do not perform surveys or installations. The MCS-certified installers in our network are independently owned businesses.
- We are not a government body. The £7,500 BUS grant is administered by Ofgem. We provide independent guidance on it but are not part of Ofgem or the UK government.
- We do not accept payment to bias content. Manufacturers and installers cannot pay us to be ranked or recommended above competitors. See How we make money.
